Food for Neighbors Project

The Food for Neighbors Project is comprised of food donations that come from farmers and food artisans that participate in the Orange Home Grown Farmers & Artisans Market, donations from local residents in the community, and from the OHG Education Farm. The donations are comprised of locally grown produce that my have blemishes, imperfections, or may be too ripe to sell at a Sunday Farmer’s Market and artisans goods, as well as canned and packaged items donated from local residents. 100% of these items are donated to either Mary’s Kitchen, the Orange Senior Center, St. John’s Food Pantry, and/or other local food pantries that feed people in need who can accept these perishable donations. This community program has been running since 2012 and continues to have a great impact on the local City of Orange. Well over 7,000lbs of food have been donated to date.
