About the Market

The Certified Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market sources farmers from the Southern California region who hold a California Certified Producers Certificate (CPC), keeping produce local and fresh. Food Artisans found at the market sell items such as breads, cheeses, oils, and dips that are made using traditional methods, increasing the diversity of goods and foods found at the market and increasing the chance to share in someone else’s food culture. Food Artisans hold a Temporary Food Facilities (TFF) permit through the County of Orange Health Care Agency.

The local craft artisans section at the market provides handmade goods like soap, pottery, clothing, and jewelry to the community.

Activities at the market include: live music, pet sitting, kid’s club, cooking demos, yoga, educational classes, a food truck rotation, market tours, and more.

The market also proudly accepts Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) and offers Market Match incentives.

Since 2011 the Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market has been a place where you can shake the hand of a farmer who grew your food while supporting local commerce and healthy food systems. Come give us a visit!

The Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market space is generously donated by Chapman University. We thank the university for its generous support and partnership throughout the years.

More than just a market

Farmers markets are place makers. They are places where people can connect with a food source, the person who grew the food, and with the community at large.

When you choose to shop at the Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans market you are not only using your dollars to support small local family farmers and artisans, but you’re also indirectly supporting the programs and events that the Orange Home Grown Foundation provides for the community.

EBT & Market Match

The Orange Home Grown Farmers & Artisan Market proudly accepts EBT and offers Market Match incentives.

The EBT system is used in California for the delivery, redemption, and reconciliation of issued public assistance benefits, such as CalFresh and other food and cash aid benefits.

Market Match is a California healthy food incentive program that matches a customer's CalFresh nutrition assistance benefit at farmers markets and other farm-direct sites. Our market provides additional FREE funds for those that use Market Match at the farmers market. Market Match is a program of the Ecology Center and is funded through the California Department of Food & Agriculture and the USDA's National Institute of Food & Agriculture.

How It Works

dog-sitting

Park Your Paws - Dog Sitting

While dogs (excluding service animals) are not allowed at the farmers market due to the State and County Health Code requirements, we offer a complimentary dog sitting service, Orange Home Grown Park Your Paws (PYP).

Please drop your well behaved and socialized pups off while you shop at the market. The PYP booth can be accessed from the corner of Lemon St. and Palm Ave., near the farmers market restroom trailer. We ask that you leave your dogs at the pet sitting booth for no longer than 30-45 minutes. Only registered service dogs are permitted within the farmers market area.

This is a complimentary service to market customers. Park Your Paws is run by a group of compassionate, local volunteers who love and understand dogs. A donation for their service is appreciated - these donations are given to local and regional animal rescue groups at the end of each year. Learn more about how Park Your Paws donations are used here.
