DoValle Pasta and Zuppa Rustica- Food Artisans


Not only are we going out to visit our farmers on location, but we are heading out to visit our food artisans on location in their certified kitchens too! Our first visit took place today with DoValle Pasta and Zuppa Rustica Soups, made here locally in a certified kitchen in the City of Orange.

We were fortunate enough to spend the morning with Christian and Dave, both hard at work preparing fresh Italian inspired pasta, and locally sourced homemade soups to be sold at the Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market this Saturday.

Christian has been delivering his old world inspired handmade fresh pastas to the farmers market for over two years. Christian has a background in the restaurant industry, and being married to a real Italian, he started his pasta business to fuel his passion for cooking. Through cooking, Christian is able to share some of his family traditions with market patrons. From, vegetarian and meat lasagna, to chicken marsala, and gluten free options, Christian is sure to have something for everyone. All of the vegetables Christian uses in his dishes and sauces are being sourced from one of our local farmers, Gaytan Family Farms.

Chef Dave, with Zuppa Rustica is new to the Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market, making his debut just two weeks ago with a sell out day! Both Christian and Dave work out of the same certified kitchen, so it was great to catch up with both of them while they were hard at work prepping for tomorrow’s market.

Dave also has a background in the restaurant industry, spending over 15 years working at the Naples Rib Joint and Fiddler’s Three. Dave took a 30 year break from the restaurant world working in the software industry. After he retired, he got back into cooking and realized there was a need at the Market for homemade soups. Dave’s wife Donna, with Bella Donna’s Sweets, has been selling Italian cookies at the Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market for over two years.

Dave believes in the quality of his ingredients, and is sourcing his vegetables locally from Gaytan Family Farm, a farmer that participates in our weekly farmers market. We couldn’t be more excited to have such quality artisan products at the farmers market each week!
