Important Notice: Update Concerning COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus)

orangehomegrownUncategorized

On behalf of Orange Home Grown (OHG), we would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to our community for the support over the years and especially through these current trying times. We send our best wishes for continued health and safety to you and your families.

The OHG Farmers & Artisans Market has become a weekly staple for many of us since our very first Market in 2011, and we certainly understand the importance of providing access to local, fresh, healthy food and supporting the many links to the chain of “Farm to Table”. These principles are the core of our mission and goals as an organization.

These are unprecedented times for many of us, and we are doing our very best to navigate through the many issues and factors at hand by staying informed with current data and information, working with local organizations, institutions and government, and weighing feedback and advice from our Board, our Governor, and our community.  It is a difficult task to weigh the benefits of operating the Farmers Market versus the concerns surrounding the health and safety of patrons, volunteers, vendors, and our OHG employees – among the many issues that we have been working through these past few weeks.

As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread throughout the communities where we live and work, in order to continue to help protect the health and safety of our community, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the OHG Farmers Market for this Saturday, 3/28/20.

While we understand this may not fully align with every individual’s belief or stance during these difficult times, we ask that you please respect and support our decision. It has been a very difficult process for everyone and this decision was made with a tremendous amount of thought, care, and collaboration.

We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation for upcoming decisions to be made for the following Saturdays in April 2020. We will continue to communicate on a weekly basis in an effort to make the most informed and appropriate decisions for the benefit of our entire community.

Respectfully,

Board of Directors
